I just finished a meeting with the area director of Not For Sale. It was one of those meetings that leave you feeling ready to take on the world. As this is my personal-creative-writing blog, and NOT my strategies-for-abolishing-slavery blog, I won’t get into the details of my meeting, but I WILL leave you with some tunes this Tuesday that relate.
If you haven’t already heard of Jenny & Tyler, shame on you.
I joke, I joke. But now you have. And you’ll never go back.
Jenny & Tyler, an adorable little folky couple, create some super raw, personal, and fun music. They have incredible hearts which permeate their lyrics. The reason I wanted to tell you about them (aside from their obvious awesomeness) is to tell you about a song they have on iTunes. They covered Simon & Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence”, and the proceeds go to IJM (International Justice Mission–equally as awesome).
Buy Sound of Silence here. (And then go buy the rest of their stuff.)
I’ll just leave you with this nugget, in case I haven’t already convinced you to click on the link and make the purchase. Jenny (crazy-talented-multi-instrument-playing musician) plays her CLARINET in this song. Can we just acknowledge how extraordinarily wonderful that is?
Since sleep doesn’t seem to be in my near future, I am going to go enjoy some clarinet music and read up on my favorite trafficking blogs.
